Many times when we have temptations we begin to pull back because we think there is no way to overcome it, so we just stay where we are. Our hope and faith is all gone and we are at a standstill because we are afraid that the temptations will grab us in the hand and throw us in the air. Each and every one has his or her own temptation, even God knows when you are in the time of your temptation, he knows you can endure and overcome it. In my own words I define temptation as occurrences that make you go the extreme or fight for the extreme in life. So don’t create a view in your mind that temptations are scary, bad, chaos. A reflection of what I am saying is in 1 Corinthians 10:13(NLT), this is what the scripture says “The temptation in your life is no different from what others experience, and God is faithful he will not allow temptation to be more than you can stand “. When we are tempted he will show us a way out so that we can endure. In as much as you find yourself in circumstances you never thought that it can happen to you, so will he give you solutions to those circumstances. Sometimes you sit down and come to a realization that what is done is done, your challenges and problems have encamped you and you feel you are thrown into the sea.
We all believe in the truth but sometimes when the truth is told then it stocks you at a place of disconfidement. A big scenario is when your husband or wife tells you that he or she has HIV, instances like this iare though the truth is told, yet it puts you in a whole mess of you not believing and trusting anyone. This is the same thing that happens when you begin to encounter your temptation. The moment your temptation starts to crush you down, then your ways are crumbling, your goals are shutting. Your temptation can be your marriage, sickness, addiction and boss. I don’t mean that the marriage you are in is so much of hell, I also don’t mean that the marriage you are in is chaotic. Absolutely NO! in a sense that temptation are there to make you strong and bold, have high esteem of yourself, increase your faith and hope, so don’t say that because my wife or husband doesn’t respect me, is not supportive in whatever I do, cheating on me am filing for a divorce, trust me divorce is never the solution to what you are facing in your marriage. In fact I know of couples who through divorce both the man and the woman begin to notice that they are clinged to each other, they both reshape their life, seek a counselor’s advice and reconcile then marry again. God knows why you are going through this temptation. A reflection is what Hosea went through in his marriage. Your temptation can be unemployment, the fact that you’ve still not gotten a job doesn’t mean that life doesn’t know you, doesn’t mean that others have more blessings than you, yes you’ve sent numerous applications but yet no feedback. The bills are rising and there is no money to pay because there is no job. God knows that you can endure it that is why he has allowed it to happen to you. From a human perspective, you will think and say that when such instances happen to you in life, you perceive that your life is built on curses, which is absolutely not so. https://enerriseinspi.com/index.php/2019/09/10/life-like-a-leaf-on-a-tree/
Your temptation can be an ailment. The fact that the doctor says you are diagnosed with arthritis, lung cancer, leukemia, stroke, liver cancer, kidney failure doesn’t mean life is a hell for you, doesn’t mean that the world is against you. The fact that you are not wearing expensive, beautiful clothes, shoes, jewelry others wear doesn’t mean you are archaic. The fact that you always find difficulties in paying your fees doesn’t mean God doesn’t like you. The fact that you hawk before you get money to buy food or needs doesn’t mean God didn’t put you in a good place, your boss always complain that you don’t do things right, everything you do is totally chaos, he or she annoys you, backbite you, say nasty words to you that breaks you and makes you feel that there is nothing that can come out of you. Until you come to a realization that whatever your boss says about you doesn’t depict who you are, you can never overcome him or she and until you understand that you are who you are because of Christ Jesus, that no matter what others say about me that is not who I am It doesn’t mean that the world despise you. The devil is tempting you in that area to see whether you will fall or not but if you endure, it is a sign to tell the devil that you are still strong and you are never weakened by anything.
Your temptation can be money (Act 5:1-11), this scripture talks about how Ananias and Saphira, because of their money had they were tempted to lie in the presence of the Holy Spirit for that matter they died. It is periodically true that the world we are in is automatically govern by money, in this era where money is counted as a prestigious material in our life, without it then everything we do is meaningless, you are working for the seek of money in other to purchase your need .You’re going to school because you want to acquire knowledge that can help establish your own company that can yield money for you. Even for musicians aside from passion, money comes first on their list. So when you strive so hard you put your all in just to get money for good livelihood and it isn’t coming then you begin to react abnormally because you know there’s nothing that can be done. Your temptation can be addiction to sex, drugs, alcohol, smoking etc. Without it you feel you are empty, without it you feel like you are going insane, without it you feel that the world or nobody offers you nothing good for you.
But do all you can so hard to overcome your temptation. What if I tell you that God is making you go through that temptation to show his faithfulness to you? A preamble of this is when the Israelite were tempted by king Balak of Moab who told Balaam to curse them but the God made Balaam son of Boer bless them instead. During your temptation that’s where you should become strong, during your temptation that’s where your faith and hope increases, during your temptation that’s where God speaks to you. During Job’s temptation that’s where God spoke to him. After Job was able to endure his temptation whatever he lost was replenish. If you are able to endure and overcome your temptation you will smile at the storm.
